SPARTANBURG, SC—The South Carolina State softball team return to play on Wednesday (April 22) versus USC-Upstate in non-conference action in an exciting doubleheader inside Cyrill Softball Stadium.
First pitch is 3 p.m., followed by a 5 p.m. start in the second contest. The game will be televised live on ESPN+.
South Carolina State (17-17 overall) look to bounce after dropping four straight contests. SCSU is coming off an 0-3 MEAC series loss to Delaware State on the road. The Lady Bulldogs were outscored 12-1 in the loss.
USC-Upstate (28-18) enters the contest coming off a three-game winning streak with a pair of wins of East Tennessee State (5-0, 9-1) and a 6-2 win over Wofford.
SERIES: The Spartans lead the series 18-0 dating back to March 8, 2014. The last time the two teams met USC-Upstate defeated SC State 10-0 on Feb. 21, 2025, in Orangeburg, SC.
