Hill Shines at MSP HBCU Softball All-Star Game

ORANGEBURG, S.C. — South Carolina State freshman standout Dallas Hill continued her remarkable rookie campaign on the national stage by capturing the Home Run Derby title at the 2026 Minority Softball Prospects (MSP) HBCU All-Star Game in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The fourth annual MSP HBCU All-Star Game, held June 5 at Stick Williams Dream Fields, showcased the top softball talent from Historically Black Colleges and Universities across NCAA Division I, II and NAIA programs. The event provides national exposure for HBCU student-athletes while celebrating the contributions of HBCUs to collegiate softball.

Hill, the lone representative from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), delivered a memorable performance during the Home Run Derby. She blasted 48 home runs across five rounds to claim the championship, recording six home runs in the opening round, nine in the second round, 10 in the third, 11 in the fourth and 12 in the decisive swing-off round.

Her performance capped an outstanding freshman season for the Bulldogs. Hill played a key role in helping South Carolina State earn 23 victories and advance to the championship game of the 2026 MEAC Softball Championship before finishing as tournament runner-up.

One of the conference's most dominant players throughout the season, Hill earned First-Team All-MEAC honors and was named the 2026 MEAC Rookie of the Year.

The rookie sensation batted .411 in 38 games, collecting 46 hits, 12 doubles, 10 home runs and 47 RBIs while scoring 24 runs. She posted a .496 on-base percentage and a .786 slugging percentage, serving as a consistent offensive force in the middle of the Bulldogs' lineup. Defensively, Hill recorded a .938 fielding percentage and helped South Carolina State secure the No. 3 seed in the MEAC Tournament.

The MSP HBCU All-Star Game, organized by HBCU All-Stars LLC, is part of a growing initiative to increase visibility and opportunities for HBCU student-athletes. The event honors the accomplishments of HBCU players and coaches while providing opportunities to connect with scouts, recruiters and fans from across the country.

Hill's success at the all-star showcase further highlights her emergence as one of the premier young talents in HBCU softball and adds another achievement to an already decorated freshman season.
