OFF THE MOUND: with DeAsia Lowther

ORANGEBURG, SC—As we approach softball season-ending stretch, we had a chance to sit down with senior pitcher/1B DeAisha Lowther to talk about her career and being a part of the South Carolina State softball program. For more on Lady Bulldog Softball visit www.scsuathletics.com

Q: What is your greatest memory as being a part of the Lady Bulldog Softball Team?
A: Playing at FAMU, giving State its first win in years, and being around my teammates/friends' family after the game. We had a BALL.

Q: What would you say was one of the biggest challenges you face in your current role?
A: Making the decision to enter the transfer portal for me or stay here at State for others.

Q: What would you tell your younger self at this point?
A: Keep going, no matter the challenges, no matter the frustration, and no matter how hard life gets, keep do whatever it takes to turn your dreams into reality.

Q. What was the best advice given to you throughout your career?
A: No matter what obstacles come your way, trust God, and push through.

Q. What are your plans after graduation?
A: After college, my plans are to return home and give back to my community. My plan is to become employed as a Middle Grades Math teacher and join the softball coaching staff of my Alma Mater. My plan is to pursue my master's degree while working and pursuing my own legacy.

Q: When I am not interacting with softball, I am doing?
A: Sleeping, enjoying my time while I got it.

Q: If I were not involved in softball, I would be doing what?
A: Still going to college and getting my degree in Mathematics education.

Q: A hidden talent I have no one knows about is?
A: I can draw.

Q: The person I admire the most in life?
A: My mother/parents

Q: My favorite quote in life?
A: "If you can't fly, then run, if you can't run, then walk, if you can't walk, then crawl, but whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward." Martin Luther King Jr.

  I can draw and chef it up in the kitchen.
