WASHINGTON, DC—The South Carolina State softball team suffered their first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) loss of the season to defending champion Howard in a 3-0 sweep over the weekend inside Nationals Youth Academy.
The Lady Bulldogs dropped to 11-11 overall, 6-3 in the MEAC, while Howard improves to 15-13 overall, 8-1 in the league.
SCSU dropped a tough 6-0 loss in Game 1, followed by a 14-5 (5 innings) defeat in Game 2 and an 8-3 decision to close out the series.
NEXT UP: South Carolina State will resume league play Friday (April3) in an exciting doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m., and 3 p.m., followed by a single game on Saturday (April.4) in a 12-noon start.
