ORANGEBURG, SC—South Carolina State Softball captured an 2-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) series win over Norfolk State over the weekend inside Lady Bulldog Softball Field.
South Carolina State improved to 13-11 overall, 8-4 in the MEAC, while Norfolk State dropped to 18-13 overall, 8-4 in the league.
HOW IT HAPPENDED
Game 1: As a team the Lady Bulldogs posted seven (7) hits with four (4) RBI's and six (6) runs scored. Freshman
Dallas Hill finished with two (2) runs scored, two (2) RBI's and a double along with one (1) run scored.
Game 2: SCSU finished with a game-high 11 runs scored in 5 innings along with 10 hits, 11 RBI's.
Lashea Morlu posted three (3) hits, two (2) runs scored and one (1) RBI;
Makayla Chisolm finished with two (2) runs scored, three (3) RBI's and two (2) hits;
Ellanie Yarrell added two (2) runs, two (2) hits and two (2) RBIs in the win.
Game 3: SC State managed just three (3) hits and one (1) run scored in the 2-1 loss.
NEXT UP: South Carolina State returns to action on Wednesday (April 8) in a non-conference battle with Charleston Southern on the road in an exciting doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
