NORFOLK, Va.,– Freshman
Dallas Hill earned the leagues top prestigious newcomer of the year award, being named the 2026 MEAC Rookie of the year the league announced.
Seven Lady Bulldog softball player were named to the All-MEAC team respectively.
This is the first time in program history with seven (7) earning postseason honors, along with first-year head coach Nakeya Hall setting several milestones this season with the first 20+ win season in over 20-years.
SCSU also set the tone early defeating Charleston Southern ending a 22-year drought and capturing the first win ever over USC-Upstate during the regular season.
A LOOK AT THE ROY: Hill was a steady offensive presence throughout the 2026 season, batting .411 over 38 games with 46 hits, 12 doubles, 10 home runs, and 47 RBI while scoring 24 runs. She also posted a .496 on-base percentage and a .786 slugging percentage, anchoring the middle of the Bulldogs' lineup with consistent run production. Defensively, she recorded a .938 fielding percentage across 16 chances. Her all-around impact helped propel South Carolina State to the No. 3 seed in tournament play, earning her MEAC Rookie of the Year honors.

Aaryn Krebs was selected to the All-MEAC Second Team.

The 2026 MEAC Softball Tournament begins on Wednesday, May 6, at the Townebank Softball Field at Norfolk State University. No. 4 Norfolk State opens the action against No. 5 Morgan State at 11 a.m., while No. 3 South Carolina State will take on No. 6 Coppin State in game two at 2 p.m.
The top two seeds, No. 1 Howard and No. 2 Delaware State, will play the winners of the two early games at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.
