Softball Opens Season On The Road At Paladin Invitational

Greenville, S.C. – South Carolina State open's its 2025 season February 6-9 when they participate in the Paladin Invitational at Pepsi Stadium.

South Carolina one of the teams participating along with host Furman, Evansville, Stonehill, Tennessee Tech, and UT Martin in Greenville.
 
The 14-game tournament begins on Thursday night with the Lady Bulldogs and Paladins. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. and the game will be streamed live on ESPN+ with Brock Bowling and former Paladin shortstop Stephanie Cushing on the call.

South Carolina State coming off one it their better finishes last season under the leadership of head coach Tatjana Matthews at 12-19 overall, 9-14 in the MEAC.

The Lady Bulldogs came one run shy of advance to the championship in a 0-1 loss to NCCU.

South Carolina was picked 5th in the Preseason MEAC Softball race to capture the crown, their highest prediction order of finish in over a decade.
