Softball On The Road At USC Upstate

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – South Carolina State softball return to action Wednesday (April. 24) versus USC Upstate in a non-conference doubleheader at Cyrill Stadium.

USC Upstate: USC Upstate enters the double header after taking games two and three of the series against Gardner-Webb. Sierra ManessMaddie Drerup, and Alyssa Kelly all pitched one game respectively, but it's the freshman that leads the pitching staff with a 2.42 ERA and 12 wins. Maness collects her 12 wins after throwing 107 strikeouts across 133.0 total innings. Denver Lauer leads the Spartans' offense with 28 runs, 45 hits, seven doubles, four homeruns, 27 RBI, 64 total bases, and 34 stolen bases along with a .346 batting average, .492 slugging percentage, and a .427 on base percentage. 

S.C. State: The Bulldogs go into Wednesday's games with a 10-24 record after most recently sweeping the University of Maryland Eastern Shore on Friday and Saturday. DeAsia Lowther leads S.C. State with three runs, 19 hits, five doubles, one homerun, 13 RBI, 27 total bases, and one stolen base along with a .292 batting average, .415 slugging percentage, and .347 on base percentage. Destiny Calloway leads the Bulldogs' pitching staff with a 4.10 ERA, three wins, and 34 strikeouts after 59.1 total innings pitched.
