SC State Split On The Road At Morgan State

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 BALTIMORE, MD- The South Carolina State softball team earned a split over the weekend versus Morgan State in Baltimore, MD.
South Carolina State falls to 6-27 overall, while Morgan State improved to 22-19 on the season/.
 
Game 1:  SC State 5, Morgan State 3-FINAL
The Lady Bulldogs scored three runs in the first inning with a homerun by Destiny Calloway. Morgan State manage to tie the game in the sixth inning when off an error scored and a scored run. SCSU rallied and scored two additional runs in the seventh inning to take a 5-3 lead and secure the victory.
Freshman pitcher Zarria Smith earned the win, allowing one hit, one run over three innings, and striking out four. Meanwhile Calloway started allowing four hits and two runs over four innings.
 
Game 2: SC State 1, Morgan State 6-FINAL
Morgan State got off to an early start over the South Carolina State in the first innings leading 0-3 and held SCSU scoreless until the seventh inning.  A single line drive in left field from Macy Prince scores Marissa Marshall late in the seventh.
Victoria Fletcher pitched for Morgan State, allowing one run on five hits over six innings while striking out five and walking one. Emily Raubuch pitched two-thirds on an inning in relief.
Maya Miller started out pitching for SC State, allowing four hits, four runs, and zero walks over four innings. Smith was the reliever out the bullpen with three innings pitched, while leading the Lady Bulldogs with two hits.
 
Game 3:
After landing the third out leading into the bottom of the fifth the Lady Bulldogs were down 2-4 to the Lady Bears the game was called. The game was later ruled a "No Contest".
 
UP NEXT: South Carolina State close out the regular season in an three-game homestand this weekend against Coppin State University. First pitch is at 1pm, Saturday, April 29 (double header), while Sunday's single game is slated for noon.
