ORANGEBURG, SC — The South Carolina State softball team will open their 2022 campaign, Saturday (Feb. 12) when they travel to Clinton, SC to participate in the 2022 Blue Hose Softball Invitational hosted by Presbyterian College.
Four teams will be competing in the three-day tournament over the weekend that runs through Sunday (Feb.13), including SC State, Northern Kentucky University, Tennessee Tech University, and host Presbyterian College.
SC State, finished the 2021 season with a 4-26 overall record and 3-14 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), open up against Tennessee Tech on Saturday (Feb. 12) at 10 a.m. followed by a 12:15 p.m. game against Northern Kentucky. On Sunday (Feb. 13), the Bulldogs will face Tennessee Tech at 12:15 p.m. and close out the tournament against Presbyterian College at 2:30 p.m.

Kyla Reeves (Montgomery, AL) along with two juniors
Jade Hendricks (Easley, SC), and
Miranda Gonzales (San Jose, CA), and three sophomores
Heaven VonRosenberg (Lexington, TX),
Jessica Haynes (Ladson, SC), and
DeAsia Lowther (East Dublin, GA).
In her third year as head coach,
Tatjana Matthews welcomes ten newcomers to the Bulldog roster as well as first year assistant coach
Katlyn Duke.
