SC State Softball Returns to Action at Florida A&M

Orangeburg, SC — The South Carolina State softball team returns to action this Friday, Apr. 2 when they travel to Tallahassee, FL for a four-game Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) matchup against Florida A&M University (FAMU).

Friday's doubleheader is scheduled for 4 p.m., followed by the second of the doubleheader at 6 p.m. Meanwhile, Saturday's wrap-up games slated to start at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

As a team, the Bulldogs (1-12, 0-4 MEAC) are hitting .195, with 48 hits, and 23 RBIs. The Bulldogs are led by senior Alston "AJ" Jenkins with a .346 batting average, and nine hits.

FAMU (2-18, 2-6 MEAC) enters the series with a .199 team batting average and is led by Seriah Brokenborough with .356 batting average.

Looking ahead, the Bulldogs will travel to take on the College of Charleston on Wednesday, April 7 in a non-conference doubleheader with first pitch scheduled for 4 p.m.
