ORANGEBURG, SC---The South Carolina State women's softball team will open the 2019 season at home Tuesday (Feb. 26^th) against Gardner-Webb in an non-conference doubleheader at Lady Bulldog Softball Field. First pitch is 2 p.m., followed by a second game beginning at 4 p.m.

Head Coach Cheretta Stevenson-Reese will begin her fourth year at the helm for the Lady Bulldog Softball program.

Last season the Lady Bulldogs finished 2-31 overall, 2-13 in the MEAC. This year Coach Stevenson-Reese welcomes a new team with seven newcomers and seven letter winners.

Meanwhile Gardner-Webb enters the contest with an 8-5 record this season. GWU knocked off East Tennessee State 5-4 in their last outing.

Next up South Carolina State will participate in the Gardner-Webb Tournament March 1-5 in Boling Springs, NC. First pitch is 12 noon against Wright State Lake University.
