Box Score 2 ORANGEBURG, S.C. – The South Carolina State University softball team dropped a non-conference doubleheader to Charleston Southern on Tuesday afternoon at Lady Bulldogs Field.
CSU (13-21) won the first game 7-0 and posted an 11-2 win in five innings game 2. Buccaneer pitcher Arizona Pilgrim pitched a no-hit shut out and struck out eight batters for the win in game 1. Ragin Prunty fell to 0-2 on the season after allowing six hits and three runs in three innings for SC State.
The Lady Bulldogs (0-22) fared better offensively in the nightcap, recording five hits and two runs. Jada Richardson, Day-sha Stewart, Tamaya McQueary, Unique Whitehurst and Jada Lake each had one hit for SC State. Stewart and McQueary scored one run apiece.
The Lady Bulldogs return to action tomorrow when they host Maryland Eastern Shore in a non-conference doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m.
