SPARTANBURG, S.C. – USC Upstate defeated South Carolina State 14-0 and 10-0 in a non-conference softball doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon at Cyrill Stadium.

Jada Richardson and Kaneisha Pettiford both tallied one hit in each game to lead SC State (4-22). Unique Whitehurst and Tamaya McQueary also had one hit apiece in the first game.

SC State returns to MEAC action this weekend in a three-game series with North Carolina Central at Lady Bulldogs Field. Saturday's doubleheader begins at 1 p.m., while Sunday's single game is slated to start at 12 p.m.
