Box Score 2 CONWAY, S.C. – The SC State softball team dropped a doubleheader at Coastal Carolina on Wednesday afternoon, losing 12-0 in both games.
The Lady Bulldogs (4-14) tallied three hits in each of the five-inning games. SC State got hits from
Jada Richardson, Ciana Burt and
Kaneisha Pettiford in the first game, while Richardson,
Unique Whitehurst and
Tamaya McQueary accounted for the hits in game 2.
Kierra Cromer started the first game in the pitching circle allowing nine hits and 12 runs in four innings. Whitehurst pitched one inning to start the second game and gave up seven hits and nine runs. Cromer relived Whitehurst and tossed the final three innings.
The Lady Bulldogs resume Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play on Saturday with a doubleheader at Florida A&M starting at 2 p.m. The teams conclude the series with a single game on Sunday at 12 p.m.
