Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 ORANGEBURG, S.C. – After winning the opening game of a non-conference doubleheader 4-2, the SC State softball team fell 14-7 to Maryland Eastern Shore on Tuesday afternoon at the Lady Bulldog Softball Field.
 
SC State (3-10) scored the first run of game 1 on a wild pitch that allowed Jasmine Greer to get home safely from third base. UMES (5-11) picked up two runs in the top of the third to take a 2-1 lead, but the Lady Bulldogs posted three runs in the bottom of the frame to take the lead for good.
 
The second game was actually close until the sixth inning. SC State was down 5-4 heading into the bottom of the fifth and scored two runs to take a 6-5 lead. However, the Lady Hawks outscored the Lad Bulldogs 9-1 in the last two innings to win their fifth game of the season.
 
On the day for SC State, Jada Richardson went 3-for-6 with two runs, one RBI and one home run. Jasmine Greer was 2-for-7 with three runs and two walks, while Kierra Cromer went 2-for-6 with a run and a walk. In the pitching circle, Cromer was 1-1 for the day after pitching 13.2 innings and allowing 21 hits, 14 runs (seven earned) and striking out three batters.
 
The Lady Bulldogs return to action on Sunday when they play a doubleheader at East Tennessee State University starting at 12 p.m.
