Box Score 2 BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The South Carolina State softball team dropped a non-conference doubleheader at Gardner-Webb (3-3) on Tuesday at Brinkley Softball Field. The Lady Bulldogs (0-4) fell 11-1 in both games.
The Lady Bulldogs' run in the first game came on
Deanna Sullivan's double to right field that scored
Jada Richardson from first base in the top of the fourth inning. Both Sullivan and Richardson ended game 1 going 1-for-3.
Kierra Cromer pitched a complete game, allowing 12 hits and 11 runs in five innings.
In the second game,
Jasmine Greer went 1-for-2 and scored a run, while Sullivan and
Unique Whitehurst both tallied one hit in three at-bats. Whitehurst made her SC State pitching debut, facing 10 batters in two and one-third innings. Cromer came in as a relief pitcher to finish the game.
The Lady Bulldogs host Humber College in a 2 p.m. doubleheader on Friday at Lady Bulldog Field.
