Box Score 2 ORANGEBURG, S.C. – The South Carolina State softball team fell 10-1 and 4-0 in its season-opening doubleheader against Drexel (2-3) on Saturday afternoon at Lady Bulldog Field.
SC State (0-2) tallied two hits in each game. In game 1, Jada Richardson scored the Lady Bulldogs' only run of the day on an RBI double by Unique Whitehurst in the bottom of the first inning. Tamaya McQueary hit an infield single in the second inning for the second hit of the game.
In the game 2, SC State got hits from Deanna Sullivan and Ciana Burt. Kierra Cromer was the pitcher of record in both games for the Lady Bulldogs. She tossed a total of 10 innings and allowed 19 hits.
SC State hits the road on Wednesday to take on Gardner-Webb in a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
