Box Score 2 SAVANNAH, Ga. – The South Carolina State softball team fell 4-0, 10-1 at Savannah State in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference doubleheader on Saturday Lady Tiger Field.
The Lady Bulldogs (8-27, 2-12 MEAC) managed six hits in the first game, but could not produce any runs.
Jareece Sayles fell to 6-14 on the season after pitching six innings in which she gave up five hits, four runs (one earned) and struck out two batters.
In the second game, SC State's only run came on an RBI single by
Tamaya McQueary that scored
Nicole Sanders in the bottom of the second inning.
Cecily Ruiz (0-3) pitched three and two-third innings in the losing effort. She gave up five hits and seven earned runs and walked five batters. Keirra Cromer pitched one third of an inning in relief and allowed three hits and three earned runs.
SC State concludes the series with Savannah State (19-15, 12-1 MEAC) in a single game beginning at noon on Sunday.
