Box Score ORANGEBURG, S.C. – The North Carolina A&T softball team posted a 7-2 win to complete the series sweep of South Carolina State on Sunday at the Lady Bulldog Softball Field.
A&T (10-16, 3-0 MEAC) got on the board first with three runs in the top of the first inning. SC State (5-14, 0-3 MEAC) scored its first run in the bottom of the fourth on an RBI single by
Jasmine Greer. One inning later, the Lady Bulldogs got another run when
Unique Whitehurst scored on an Aggie fielding error.
The Aggies scored two more runs in the seventh inning to seal the win.
Greer and Khala Caster had two hits apiece SC State. Raven Gray and Dasia Moore also had two hits for A&T.
Janika May picked up the win for A&T. She pitched a complete game and allowed seven hits, two runs (one earned) and struck out four batters.
Jareece Sayles gave up nine hits and seven runs and struck out two in seven innings.
The Lady Bulldogs travel to Daytona Beach, Fla. to take on Bethune-Cookman in a three-game MEAC series. The teams will play a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. on Friday and then a single game on beginning at noon on Saturday.
