Box Score 3 ORANGEBURG, SC—The South Carolina State Lady Bulldogs knocked off the Lady Eagles of NC Central, 5-1, to win the series 2-1 in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) softball action Sunday at the Lady Bulldogs Softball Field.
The Lady Bulldogs improve to 10-21 overall, 3-6 in the MEAC, while the NCCU Lady Eagles fall to 6-30 overall, 1-7 in the league.

Vianney Gomez went 2-0 in the series to improve her record to 6-10 overall.
In day one, the two teams split a pair of contest with South Carolina State winning in Game 1: 3-2, off a pair of RBI singles from infielder
Jasmine Greer and catcher
Cianna Burt in the bottom of the 5
th inning to give SC State a 3-1 lead.
NCCU responded on a costly error by SC State to drive home pitcher Dominique Wilson to pull the Lady Eagles within one, 3-2, in the top of the 6
th inning. The Lady Bulldogs held on to a 3-2 victory to take a 1-0 lead in the series Saturday.
In Game 2: NCCU defeated SC State 8-0 off costly forced errors to close out the day with a 1-1 split in the series moving into Game 3: Sunday at Lady Bulldog Softball Field.
In the final game of the day , SC State jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the bottom of the 3
rd inning off a m RBI single base hit to left field by
Jazmin Robinson to bring two runners home.
Meanwhile, after the Lady Bulldogs led the midway through the game 3-0 in Game 3: at the top of the 3
rd it was senior
Tiffany Harris's RBI single to left field that brought home the go ahead win to secure a 5-1 victory over NCCU.
South Carolina State returns to action on Wednesday (4/23) at Beckham Field when they take on SEC foe South Carolina in a non-conference matchup at 6 p.m. in Columbia, SC.
