ORANGEBURG, SC—The South Carolina State Lady Bulldogs will host the visiting Lady Eagles of NC Central in Mid-Eastern Athletic (MEAC) softball action Saturday at the Lady Bulldog Softball Field. First pitch is 1 p.m., followed by Game 2 at 3 p.m.
South Carolina State enters the contest with an 8-20 overall, 1-5 MEAC record, while North Carolina Central is 5-28 overall, 1-5 in the league.
Coach Tonja Braxton and the Lady Bulldogs look to stay in the mix of things in the Southern Division after dropping a tough 2-1 series defeat to Bethune-Cookman on last week. Meanwhile, NC Central is coming off back-to-back defeats to College of Charleston (1-5, 0-7) and will try and knock off a scrappy SC State team in the three-game series.
South Carolina State returns to action on Wednesday (4/23) at Beckham Field when they take on SEC foe South Carolina in a non-conference matchup at 6 p.m. in Columbia, SC.
