SPARTANBURG, SC—The South Carolina State women's softball team will face their biggest challenge of the season against  #25 ranked USC Upstate  in a non-conference doubleheader at 12 noon at Cyrill Stadium.

Upstate enters Saturday's doubleheader against S.C. State with a 20-2 overall record. S.C. State enters the day with a 4-8 overall mark. The Bulldogs split a doubleheader against Newberry on Tuesday. The Spartans and Bulldogs have never met in softball.

The Spartans knocked off ACC foe North Carolina 1-0 Wednesday in their last outing. Prior to Thursday's win, the Spartans lost a couple of close decisions at N.C. State for its first losses of the season by scores of 1-0 and 5-3.
