Savannah, Ga. (May 5-6)--The SC State women's softball team dropped all three games of its final regular season Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) series falling to Savannah State last weekend (May 5-6). This marks the second straight season that the Lady Bulldogs did not qualify for the MEAC post-season tournament.

During the double-header on day one of the series, SC State's (16-27, 4-10) offense struggled to find any offense.  Over the course of the two games, the Lady Bulldogs scored just two combined runs, falling 5-1 in Game One and 6-1 in Game Two.  Seniors Taylor-Anne Harris and LaTavia Riley scored the runs in Game One and Two, respectively. The defense also struggled allowing 12 runs while committing four errors.

SC State managed to find some offense in the third game of the series.  The Lady Bulldogs put up three runs in the top of the first inning.  Savannah State (24-22, 8-7) quickly rebounded, putting up four runs in its half of the inning to take the one run advantage.  After heading into the fifth inning down by one, freshman Nicole Sanders scored off an RBI single by Taylor-Anne Harris to tie the game at 6-6.  The Lady Tigers then had a breakout fifth inning, as they scored seven runs off seven hits and one Lady Bulldog error to take a 13-6 lead heading into the sixth.  SC State managed to put up one additional run in the top of the sixth but could not get any other offense, thus dropping Game Three 7-13 and the series 0-3.

Junior pitcher Vianney Gomez went 0-2 and freshman Jazmin Robinson went 0-1 over the weekend for SC State.  Savannah State was led by Madison Hedderly who won Games One and Three and Amanda McDowell who was the winner of Game Two.
