SC State Drops Doubleheader to College of Charleston

Mt. Pleasant, S.C.— The SC State women's softball team fell to the College of Charleston, 0-5 and 1-6, in a non-conference doubleheader  on Tuesday (Feb. 19).  The contest was played at Patriots Point, which serves as the home field for College of Charleston, in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.

In Game One, the College of Charleston (4-3) put up five runs off 11 hits.  The Cougars scored one run in the first and two in the third and fifth inning, respectively and allowed just two hits by SC State in the game. 

SC State (7-3) did manage to have a little offense in Game Two.  The Lady Bulldogs finished the second game of the doubleheader with one run off six hits in the contest.  Freshman Jazmine Robinson scored the Lady Bulldogs lone run on the day.  College of Charleston put two runs in the first and four in the second inning en route to capturing the 6-1 Game Two victory.

Junior Vianney Gomez was the loser in Game One while Leigha Hite was the loser of Game Two.

Hope Klicker was the winner of Game One while Stephanie Saylors was the winner of Game Two for College of Charleston who improves to 4-3 overall.

SC State will return to action this Sunday, February 24 when they host St. Augustine's College in a non-conference double-header.  The Lady Bulldogs will then host Anderson in a non-conference doubleheader next Tuesday, February 26.  Both contests are set for a 1 p.m. first pitch at the Lady Bulldog softball field on the campus of SC State.
