Tallahassee, Fla.—The SC State women's softball team this weekend dropped all three games of a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference series to Florida A&M.  The series was contested this Saturday-Sunday, Apr. 28-29, in Tallahassee, Fla. on the campus of Florida A&M.

After having 12 days off from competition, SC State (14-26, 3-9 MEAC) could not bring their bats to life recording just 11 hits over the three-game series.  In Game One of Saturday's double-header, the Lady Bulldogs scored one run off five hits and one walk.  LaTavia Riley scored SC State's only run of the 7-1 Game One Loss.  The Lady Bulldogs could not capitalize on its five hits in Game Two, falling, 9-0, in five innings.

SC State was more competitive in Game Three of the series on Sunday.  After allowing Florida A&M (21-27, 8-4 MEAC) to score a run in the first inning, SC State's defense came to life.  The Lady Bulldogs held the Lady Rattlers scoreless over the next three innings.  Despite a strong defensive stance, the Lady Bulldogs offense was still stagnant as they had just one hit in the contest.  Florida A&M offense came back to life as they scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth en route to the 4-0 Game Three victory which solidified the series sweep.

The Lady Bulldogs Vianney Gomez was the loser in Games One and Three while Raven Johnson was the loser of Game Two.  Jenn Lindsey picked up the wins in Games One and Three for the Lady Rattlers and Ashley Minter was the winner in Game Two for Florida A&M.

SC State will close out the 2012 regular season next weekend, Saturday-Sunday, May 5-6, when they host Savannah State in a three- games Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference three-game series.  Saturday's double-header is set for a 1 p.m. first pitch, while Sunday's single game is set for a 12 noon start.  Sunday's contest will also be senior day for the Lady Bulldogs.
