Tallahassee, Fla. (May 7-8)--The SC State women's softball this past weekend dropped all three games to Florida A&M University (FAMU) in its final Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Series of the 2011 season. The series was contested at the Lady Rattler Complex on the campus of Florida A&M this past Saturday and Sunday, May 7-8.
FAMU (25-24, 8-4 MEAC) swept the double-header on Saturday defeating SC State, 14-0 and 8-0. The Lady Rattlers completed the series sweep on Sunday with a 10-7 victory over the Lady Bulldogs, who finishes the regular season at 10-42 overall and 3-9 in the MEAC.

Raven Johnson went 1-1 on the weekend as she dropped the first game of the double-header on Saturday and the third game of the series on Sunday. Freshman
Vianney Gomez was the loser in Game Two on Saturday.
Both teams will have three days off before traveling to Ormond Beach, FL this weekend (May 12-14) to participate in the 2011 MEAC Softball Championships. Florida A&M will enter to the tournament as the number two seed in the Southern Division and will face the number three seed in the North, Morgan State. SC State will head into the tournament as the number four seed in the Southern Division for the second straight season and will face the number one seed in the Northern Division, Delaware State.
Last season SC State reached the tournament for the first time since the 2005 season. In its opening round of the 2010 tournament the Lady Bulldogs upset the overall number one seeded Howard University.
