Orangeburg, S.C.—The SC State softball team will closeout its 2011 home regular season this weekend, Saturday-Sunday, Apr. 30-May 1, against North Carolina Central. The three-game series get underway with a doubleheader on Saturday at 12 noon and conclude with a single game on Sunday at
1 p.m. The senior members of the Lady Bulldogs team will be honored in a pre-game ceremony prior to Saturday's doubleheader.
SC State will enter the weekend series with an 8-38 overall record while
North Carolina Central enters the series with a 6-32 overall record. The Lady Bulldogs his led in hitting by senior
Denitia Carter and red-shirt junior
Sonya Giles who are averaging .349 and .286, respectively. Nadia Jefferies currently leads the Lady Eagles in batting averaging with a .277 average.
SC State will close out its 2011 regular season next weekend when they travel to Tallahassee, Fla. to take on the Lady Rattlers of Florida A&M University. The three-game Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference series will take place next Saturday-Sunday, May, 7-8, in Tallahassee.
