Orangeburg, S.C.—SC State will host Western Carolina in a double-header, tomorrow, Feb. 16 in its first home game of the 2011 season. Tomorrow's contest, which will be played at the Hillcrest Field in Orangeburg, S.C., is set for 1 p.m. first pitch.
The Lady Bulldogs opened its 2011 campaign going 0-4 in the Tiny Laster's 4th Annual HBCU Classic in Atlanta, Ga. SC State opened the tournament with a 1-10 loss to Tennessee State on Saturday (Feb. 12). The Lady Bulldogs then fell to Alcorn State, 1-6, (Feb. 12) and Grambling, 4-7, (Feb. 13) before closing out the tournament with another 1-10 loss, this time to Mississippi Valley State (Feb. 13).
Tomorrow's contest is the first of six five straight home games for SC State. The Lady Bulldogs will host Savannah State (Feb. 17: 1 p.m.), Morgan State (Feb. 18: 1 p.m.), Lander (Feb. 20: 12 noon), and Oakland (Feb. 22: 12 noon). All games during the stretch will be double-headers and are free and open to the public. Each contest will be played at Hillcrest Field in Orangeburg.
