SC State Softball Falls to FAMU in the Final 2010 Series

Orangeburg, SC (May 8-9)--The SC State women's softball team fell to Florida A&M University (FAMU) dropped all three games of its final Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Series of the 2010 season. The series was contested this past weekend at the Lady Bulldog Softball Field on the campus of SC State.
 
Epiphany Davis
FAMU (28-20, 6-30 MEAC) swept the double-header on Saturday defeating SC State, 9-0 and 8-0. The Lady Rattlers completed the sweep on Sunday with a 9-1 victory over the Lady Bulldogs, who finishes the regular season at 8-41 overall and 3-9 in the MEAC.
 
Amanda Reyes went 2-0 and Jennifer Lindsey went 1-0 over the weekend for the Lady Rattlers while Raven Johnson went 0-3 for the Lady Bulldogs.
 
Both teams will have four days off before traveling to Ormond
Channell Thompson
Beach, FL this weekend (May 13-16) to participate in the 2010 MEAC Softball Championships. Florida A&M will enter to the tournament as the number three seed in the Southern Division while SC State will head into the tournament as the number four seed in the Southern Division. This year will mark the first time since the 2005 season that the Lady Bulldogs have qualified for the post-season tournament.
 
GAME NOTES: Sunday's game was senior day for the Lady Bulldogs as Epiphany Davis and Channell Thompson played their final game at Lady Bulldog Field.
