Tallahassee, FL(May 2-3)—Florida A&M University (FAMU) swept SC State in the final Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Series of the 2009 Series. The three game series was contested at the Lady Rattler's Softball Complex in Tallahassee, FL.
FAMU (25-29, 12-0 MEAC) swept the double-header on Saturday defeating SC State (7-30, 0-12 MEAC) 7-0 and 12-1. The Lady Bulldogs displayed a better effort on Sunday. Despite allowing nine hits and committing two errors, SC State allowed just one FAMU run over the seven innings. The Lady Rattlers, who will enter this weekend MEAC Championships as the top seed in the Southern Division, left nine runners on base including two innings that saw the bases loaded.
Raven Johnson and Amanda Reyes picked up the victories on Saturday for FAMU and Reyes was the winner on Sunday. The Lady Bulldogs Kimberlee went 0-2 over the weekend and Raven Johnson went 0-1.
