Norfolk, VA – The SC State softball team dropped the final game of a three-game Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) series to Norfolk State, 11-0. The series was contested at the Spartan Softball Field on the campus of Norfolk State.
Despite committing just one error in the game, the Lady Bulldogs, (3-22 overall, 0-9 MEAC), could not control the offensive attack of the Spartans. Norfolk State, (15-20 overall, 4-5 MEAC), put up nine runs off nine hits by the end of the second inning. The Spartans put up two additional runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to secure the 11-0 victory. The Lady Bulldogs offense was stagnant for the shortened game (five inning run rule) as they had only three hits total.
Elizabeth Castaneda (2-3) picked up the win for Norfolk State, while Raven Johnson (2-8) of was the loser in the game.
The Lady Bulldogs will return to action on Tuesday, Apr. 14, as they host Campbell University in a non-conference double-header. First pitch is set for 2 pm at the Lady Bulldog Softball Field on the campus of SC State.
