ORANGEBURG, SC – South Carolina State will enshrine fifteen (15) individuals into its Hall of Fame during the upcoming football season. The 2026 Class will include four posthumous inductees. Making up the class will be eight football players, three posthumous; two men's basketball players; one honoree each in baseball, golf, tennis, track and field, as well as one contributor.
The class, the third largest individual group in school history, will be recognized during a special enshrinement ceremony on the campus Friday, Aug. 28, 2026, and presented at halftime of the Aug. 29 Savannah State football game, the Bulldog season-opener.
The class includes football standouts John Courtney (DL 1978-1982), Leonard Duncan (DB/KR 1973-1976), Charles Glaze (QB 1983-1986), Tyler McDonald (WR 1983-1986), Walter Mitchell (DL 1965-1969), Damien Moses (DL 1988-1992); Chris Ragland (RB 1976-1980), and Robert "Mickey" Sims (DL 1973-1976). Duncan, Moses, and Sims are being inducted posthumously.
Also to be enshrined are basketball players Bernard Bowman (G 1984-1988) and Ralph Miller (G 1982-1985); Maria Craciun (tennis 2010-2013), Charles "Chuck" Gadsden (baseball 1970-1972), Douglas Grier (golf 1974-1978), John Hinson (track & field 1978-1982), and James H. Salley PA Announcer/TV Show host (1980-1990/1994-1990. Grier is being enshrined posthumously.

South Carolina State University is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I level intercollegiate athletic program.
