SCSU's Clark Selected for 2026 NFL Future Leaders in Football Fellowship

Senior accounting major turns passion for athletics and visual storytelling into opportunity to pursue NFL front-office aspirations

ORANGEBURG, S.C. — South Carolina State University senior Nina Clark has spent her collegiate career learning that success behind the scenes requires the same qualities demanded on the field — preparation, discipline, adaptability and a commitment to the team.

Those qualities have now earned Clark an opportunity to take another step toward her ultimate goal of becoming an NFL executive.

Clark, a senior accounting major and student athletics videographer for the SC State football program, was selected to the 2026 NFL Future Leaders in Football Fellowship, joining a cohort of 16 emerging professionals representing historically Black colleges and universities across the CIAA, MEAC, SIAC and SWAC.

The fellowship is designed to provide participants with exposure to the football industry, professional development opportunities and access to leaders throughout the sport. The program also represents an investment in developing the next generation of professionals who aspire to build careers within football and athletics.

For Clark, the selection carries special meaning because it connects the work she is doing today at SC State with where she hopes to be in the future.

"I was extremely surprised and blessed to receive this prestigious honor with the NFL Fellowship," Clark said. "My parents instilled in me to always remain focused, control what I can control and always remain responsible for my actions in life."

Finding Her Place in Athletics
Clark's path within SC State Athletics has allowed her to experience multiple sides of a college football operation.

She initially became involved in athletics through football recruiting, gaining firsthand exposure to an important part of building and maintaining a collegiate program. Her interests eventually expanded into athletic communications and media, leading her to transition into videography.

Now in her second year working as a student athletics videographer, Clark helps capture the SC State football experience through a camera lens. Her role places her around student-athletes, coaches and staff while giving her practical experience in the fast-paced environment surrounding a Division I football program.

The transition has also helped Clark develop a broader understanding of how different departments work together to support a successful organization.

While her current role centers on visual storytelling, Clark's academic background provides another important piece of her professional development. As an accounting major, she is developing skills in financial management, analysis, organization and accountability — areas that can translate directly to the business operations of professional sports.

That combination of business education and hands-on athletic experience has helped shape Clark's long-term ambitions.

Looking Toward the NFL
Clark does not plan for her journey to end with graduation from SC State.

Following completion of her undergraduate degree, she plans to attend graduate school and pursue a master's degree. Her long-term objective is to work in an NFL front office and eventually serve in an executive leadership role.

The Future Leaders in Football Fellowship provides Clark with an opportunity to learn more about the professional football industry while building relationships with individuals who understand the many career paths available beyond the playing field.

Her selection also places SC State among the HBCUs represented in the 2026 class. Clark is one of four fellows representing MEAC institutions, joining Camren Pitts of Howard University, Kristen Fair of Morgan State University and Michael Ellison III of Albany State University among the 16-member cohort.

Other fellows represent institutions including Livingstone College, Winston-Salem State University, Fayetteville State University, Johnson C. Smith University, Morehouse College, Benedict College, Tuskegee University, Alcorn State University, Southern University, Alabama State University and the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.

For Clark, however, the fellowship is about more than adding another accomplishment to her résumé. It is another opportunity to prepare for what comes next.

From beginning her athletics journey in recruiting to documenting SC State football as a videographer, Clark has continued to explore the different pieces that make an athletics organization work. Now, the NFL fellowship gives her an opportunity to expand that education beyond the college level.

The camera may be where Clark is making her mark today, but her vision stretches well beyond the sideline.

She sees herself one day helping make decisions from an NFL front office — and her selection to the 2026 Future Leaders in Football Fellowship represents another step toward making that vision a reality.
