ORANGEBURG, SC--South Carolina State assistant volleyball coach Jasmine Chambers recently completed Class #54 of the prestigious Women Coaches Academy (WCA). This nationally respected leadership program empowers women across all sports and divisions.
Hosted by WeCOACH in partnership with the NCAA, the WCA took place May 19–21, 2025, in Denver, Colorado. Chambers joined a select cohort of women coaches nationwide for three days of intensive learning, reflection, and connection—all designed to elevate and sustain women in the coaching profession.
The NCAA Women Coaches Academy equips participants with non-sport-specific training in leadership, communication, confidence, culture building, mental performance, and strategies for navigating the unique challenges women face in athletics. It also fosters an enduring community of support through mentorship, peer learning, and ongoing access to WeCOACH resources.
"Attending the Women Coaches Academy was a transformational experience," Chambers said. "It challenged me to reflect on who I am as a leader and gave me the tools to grow both personally and professionally."
For Chambers, the WCA experience was more than a developmental milestone—it was a powerful affirmation of her vision and purpose as a leader. Throughout the academy, she engaged in deep-dive workshops and candid conversations with trailblazing women leaders in sports, expanding her toolkit for success and sharpening her focus on building an inclusive, successful, and player-centered culture.
Chambers' acceptance into this elite academy is a testament to her rising influence in the coaching world. She continues to invest in her professional growth through ongoing involvement in the Big Ten Volleyball Mentorship Program.
This yearlong initiative connects early-career coaches with seasoned mentors at some of the nation's top programs. Her continued participation in this program has provided her with elite-level exposure and strategic insight that she brings back to her role at South Carolina State.
