BALTIMORE, MD – Top-seeded Coppin State Lady Eagles defeated No. 8 South Carolina State in the MEAC Volleyball Tournament quarterfinals, 25-17, 25-17, 25-15, to advance to the semifinals.
The Lady Eagles will face No. 4 Delaware State tomorrow at 5 p.m.
TaKenya Stafford led Coppin State (21-11) with a double-double, recording 12 kills and 11 digs. For South Carolina State,
Kiyah Felder had eight kills, while
Arianna James added 23 assists. The Lady Bulldogs finish the season at 5-23 but feature one of the youngest rosters in the conference, returning next season with a more experienced core.
The semifinal will be broadcast live on ESPN+, with the winner advancing to the championship match on Saturday.
