South Carolina State freshman Madison Boyd is Physical Education/ Applied Exercise Science major from Ladson, SC, who plays shortstop and outfielder for the Lady Bulldog Softball team.
Before coming to SC State, Madison participated in the prestigious All-State North/ South All-Star game in her final season. During her junior and senior year, she received numerous accolades including being named to the All-Region team.

What is something about you nobody else knows?
Something about me that nobody knows is that I have a huge Lego car collection and that builds every single one of them.
Do you have any pregame rituals or superstitions you practiced before or during competitions?
Some rituals and superstitions that I have before games is I will always wear my lucky white hat for every game, I always double knot my laces before games, and the last one is I always must have my lucky chains on.
What advice would you give to younger athletes who are just starting in your sport?
The advice I would give younger athletes is that they should never give up on themselves, and always have confidence within themselves because it goes such a long way.
What do you think are the benefits of being a student-athlete?
The benefits of being a student athlete are making longtime friends and teammates along the way and the other thing I would say is traveling because that is fun also.
If you weren't playing softball, what sport would you play?
If I didn't play softball I would 100% play golf, no questions asked.
