SC State Releases 2019 Volleyball Schedule

ORANGEBURG, SC—South Carolina State University volleyball team announces the 2019 schedule that features twenty-six matches under third-year head coach Monique Lee.
 
The Lady Bulldogs will play 12 non-conference matches and 14 league Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) contests during the 2019 campaign.
 
SCSU kicks off the season on the road in the MEAC/SWAC Challenge in Montgomery, Alabama against Alabama State (Aug. 30th), Texas Southern (Aug.30th ) and Jackson State and Alabama A&M on Aug. 31st , followed by a return trip to the Palmetto State in a showdown with Charleston Southern on Sept. 3rd in Charleston, SC.
 
South Carolina State will then embark on its second tournament in the Coastal Carolina Tournament in Myrtle Beach, SC with a first matchup with host Coastal Carolina and East Carolina on Sept. 6th, followed by a wrap up against Southern Methodist University on Sept 7th.
 
The Lady Bulldogs remain on the road for a battle with UNC-Asheville in Asheville, NC on Sept. 10th, before returning home in their home-opener on Sept. 17th versus Charleston Southern at Dukes Gymnasium.
 
SCSU opens up MEAC play on the road in the tobacco state, beginning with N.C. A&T State in Greensboro, NC on Sept. 27th and N.C. Central in Durham, NC on Sept. 29th.
 
Coach Lee's team return to Orangeburg for a six-game homestand beginning with Bethune-Cookman on Oct. 4th, Florida A&M on Oct. 6th, USC-Upstate on Oct. 8th, Maryland-Eastern Shore (UMES) on Oct. 11th, Delaware State on Oct.14th followed by UNC-Asheville on Oct. 22nd.
 
A four-game MEAC road swing starts in Baltimore, MD with league matches versus Morgan State on Oct. 25 and Coppin State on Oct. 27th, before heading down to the sunshine state for a rumble in  Daytona Beach, FL against Bethune-Cookman on Nov. 1st and Florida A&M in Tallahassee, FL on Nov. 3rd .
 
South Carolina State close out their last two contest at home on Nov.8th against rival N.C. A&T State and NC Central on Nov. 10th, before wrapping up the season on the road with Howard on Nov.15th in Washington, DC and regular season finale in Norfolk, VA against the Lady Spartans of Norfolk State on Nov. 17th.
 
 The MEAC Championship will be held in Washington, D.C., from Nov. 22-24.
