ORANGEBURG, SC—The South State women's basketball team seeks its first league win of the season when they take on the visiting Delaware State Lady Hornets in a pivotal MEAC doubleheader Saturday (Jan.21) at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center. Tipoff is 2 p.m. for the women, with the men following in a 4 p.m. start.
South Carolina State will celebrating "Youth Day" and all youth ages 17 and under will be admitted at the discounted price of $3. Community you and groups will be invited to participate in all games and contests during each game of the doubleheader.
SC State is looking to snap back after a 60-49 loss to Savannah State on Saturday (Jan. 21). Graduate guard
Bryeasha Blair led the Lady Bulldogs with a team-high 17 points. Meanwhile, Delaware State look to turn things around as well after coming off a tough 74-82 loss to Norfolk State on last week. NaJai Pollard and Mikah Aldridge led DSU with a team-high 21 points each.
In their last meeting on the hardwood SC State split with Delaware State in a 61-48 win at home in Orangeburg and a 61-79 loss on the road in Dover, DE.
SCOUTING THE LADY BULLDOGS: Graduate guard
Bryeasha Blair is the leader for SC State with 17.4 points and 4.2 rebounds per contest. Junior forward
Brittany Drumgoole adds 10.7 ppg and 4.4 rpg. Junior
Jahmia Bradley heads the frontcourt with 7.1 rebounds and 8.5 points. Sophomore center
JaQuanna Murray chips in 6.4 points and 6.1 rebounds in a reserve role.
SCOUTING THE LADY HORNETS: Two players are in double-figures for DSU with Pollard leading the way with 18.4 points per outing and Aldridge with 13.5. Pollard is also the leader on the boards with 9.8 rebounds and 2.2 blocks.

SC State will return to MEAC play in the first of a doubleheader Monday (Jan. 23) against visiting Morgan State at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center. Tipoff for the women is 5:30 p.m., with the men's contest following immediately afterwards in a 7:30 p.m. start.
