NORFOLK, Va. (March 11, 2026) – Senior guard
Shaunice Reed led the way for South Carolina State in an 75-43 loss to No. 1 Howard in the quarterfinal round of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Tournament at Norfolk Scope Arena.
The Bulldogs (5–24), the No. 8 seed, were limited to just eight available players due to injuries, including three starters.
In a reserve role
Janiah Hinton finished with seven (7) points, while teammate
Heaven Harper added six (6) points and six (6) rebounds.
The top seed Howard Bison (24-8) were led by Zennia Thomas with a game-high 19 points and 9 rebounds on the day.
Howard will return to the court in the MEAC Tournament Semifinals on Friday, March 13 at 12 p.m., where the Bison will face the winner of the No. 4 Coppin State vs. No. 5 North Carolina Central quarterfinal matchup. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
