MYRTLE BEACH, SC—The South Carolina State Lady Bulldogs look to snap a two-game losing skid when they take on Coastal Carolina Friday (Dec. 16) at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center in the CresCom Bank Carolinas Challenge. Tipoff is 6 p.m.
LAST TIMEOUT: South Carolina State (3-4) dropped a tough 67-73 overtime loss to USC-Upstate Monday (Dec. 12) at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center. Junior guard
Brittany Drumgoole tossed in a game-high 25 points, while sophomore forward
JaQuanna Murray added 17 and
Jahmia Bradley 14 in the loss.
The Lady Bulldogs are led in scoring by graduate guard
Bryeasha Blair with 19.7 points per game. Drumgoole adds 11.9, while Bradley chips in 10.9 points on the season. Murray is the leader on the boards with 5.4 ppg.
Meanwhile, CCU (3-5) suffered back-to-back losses to Saint Francis (70-59) and Wofford (67-62). Racheal Gregory leads the way with 14.4 points and 8.0 rebounds. Ced Gibson is second in scoring with 12.2 ppg, while Kennedy Archer adds 11.1. Alexis Robinson is the force in the frontcourt grabbing a team-high 8.7 rebounds along with 9.9 points per outing.
Up next South Carolina State returns to action on Sunday (Dec. 18) when they take on Clemson in a 2 p.m. showdown at Littlejohn Coliseum.
