Box Score ORANGEBURG, S.C. – A layup by April McRae with 18 seconds left gave the North Carolina A&T women's basketball team a 55-54 advantage over SC State and a pair of free throws by Kala Green sealed the Lady Aggies' 57-54 win over the Lady Bulldogs on Monday night at the Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
 
Amber Howard was SC State's leading scorer with 11 points. She added four rebounds and two assists. Toni Grier also scored in double figures with 10 points.
 
The Lady Bulldogs (6-8, 2-2 MEAC) led 19-12 after the first quarter. They extended the lead to 10, 22-12, after a 3-pointer by Bria Ratliff at the 9:39 mark in the second period. NCAT (7-8, 3-1 MEAC) slowly chipped away at the lead and tied the game at 26-all on a trey by Christina Carter with 2:04 left in the quarter. The Lady Aggies took the lead on another 3-pointer and went into halftime with a 30-26 lead.
 
The game was extremely close in the second half with five ties in the final 20 minutes. NCAT led most of the way, with the Lady Bulldogs gaining a momentary lead (54-53) on a 3-point play by Howard with 35 seconds left in the game.
 
McRae led all players with 14 points and Green had 10 points.
 
The Lady Bulldogs take the court again on Saturday when they host Delaware State at 2 p.m. Saturday's game is Former Athlete Appreciation Day.
