HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — South Carolina State women's volleyball opens the 2026 regular season on the road Friday when the Bulldogs begin play in the Alabama A&M Invitational in Huntsville, Alabama.

Interim head coach Chymaine Guinyard will get her first opportunity of the regular season to showcase a talented SC State squad as the Lady Bulldogs compete in three matches over two days.
South Carolina State opens tournament play Friday against Mississippi Valley State at 2 p.m. The Bulldogs return to the court later that evening for a 6 p.m. matchup against tournament host Alabama A&M.

SC State closes out the invitational Saturday with a 2 p.m. contest against Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

The season-opening tournament will provide Guinyard and her staff with an early opportunity to evaluate the Lady Bulldogs against three Southwestern Athletic Conference opponents while establishing momentum for the 2026 campaign.

Friday, Aug. 28
South Carolina State vs. Mississippi Valley State, 2 p.m.
South Carolina State at Alabama A&M, 6 p.m.

Saturday, Aug. 29
South Carolina State vs. Arkansas-Pine Bluff, 2 p.m.

Location: Huntsville, Alabama
SC State enters the new season looking to establish consistency and build chemistry during its early nonconference schedule. The Alabama A&M Invitational marks the first regular-season competition for the Lady Bulldogs and gives the team an immediate test with multiple matches in a short period.
