ORANGEBURG, SC---The South Carolina State softball team posted back-to-back wins over Coppin State Friday (April.4) to take a 2-0 lead in the three-game series in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play inside Lady Bulldog Softball Field.
South Carolina State improves to 8-16 overall, 4-7 in the MEAC with the wins.
How It Happened:
GAME 1: SC State scored in ten (10) runs with 8 hits and 8 RBI's.
Kaylah Leslie scored on three (3) runs along with an RBI and teammate
Taylor Ames-Alexander finished with three (3) hits, five (5) RBI's and a hit to secure to 10-5 win over CSU.
GAME 2: SCSU scored in 11 runs to cruise on to a dominating victory.
Jamaria Charley finished with two (2) runs and three (3) hits along with four (4) RBI's, along with Ames-Alexander's one run, two (2) hits and two (2) RBI's. Teammates Alyssa Standford and Madsion Boyd each added two runs on the day.
NEXT UP: South Carolina State close the series with Coppin State on Saturday (April. 5) in a 1 p.m. start inside Lady Bulldog Softball Field.
