NORFOLK, VA—South Carolina State dropped Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) series in a 5-7 loss to Norfolk State Sunday (March. 16) inside NSU Softball Field.
SCSU falls to 5-11 overall, 1-2 in the MEAC, while NSU improves to 8-12, 2-1 MEAC.
The Lady Bulldogs jumped out to a quick early 3-0 lead with a double down by Taylor Ames and RBI with a score by Kaylah Lesli. A. McPherson grounded out but secured 2 RBIs on scores by
Jayla King and
Taylor Ames-Alexander.
A five-run sixth inning from the Norfolk State softball team secured them a 7-5 comeback victory.
The Spartans never relinquished their lead, defeating the Bulldogs, 7-5.
South Carolina State will return to action on Saturday (March 22) in an exciting doubleheader with Howard inside Lady Bulldog Softball Field. First pitch is 1 pm, followed by a 3:30 start in the second game.
