CLINTON, SC—South Carolina State suffered yet another setback Sunday (Sept. 1) after dropping a tough 4-1 loss to Presbyterian College at Martin Stadium.

South Carolina State falls to 0-6 on the season, while PC improves to 4-1.

The first half the score was tied 1-1 with both teams scoring off a goal by Line-Marie Muller (PC) and Shannilea Schliffer (SC State) before intermission.

Presbyterian controlled the second half scoring three straight goals by Sloan Spees at the 48:42 mark, another goal by Muller at the 49:05 mark and a goal by Gwen Keiser late in the game at 68:04 mark to secure the 4-1 victory.

Freshman goalie Jada Gittings finished the day with a game-high 10 saves.

NEXT UP: South Carolina State will hit the road once again at Charleston Southern on Sept. 5. First kick is 3 pm.

All women's soccer home contests will be played at the Oliver C. Dawson Bulldog Stadium on the campus of SC State and are free to the public.
