NASHVILLE, TN—South Carolina State (1-5) volleyball team closed out the Tiger Invitational with an 1-3 loss to host Tennessee State (2-5) Saturday (Sept.14) inside Kean Hall Gymnasium.
How It Happened
- The Lady Bulldogs jumped out early winning the set 25-22. TSU bounced back to win three straight sets (15-25, 14-25, 21-25)
- Xaria Pickett led the way with a team-high 10 kills, followed by Hailey Harris with seven (7) and McKinley with six (6).
- Harris led the way in blocks with eight (8), followed by Hedia Lewis and Pickett with four (4) respectively.
- Kaia Barnett continued to play lights out through the tourney finishing with a game-high 22 assist.
- Miya Benson added 18 digs, while Trinity Stevenson chipped 9 in the loss.
NEXT UP: South Carolina State will wrap up their third tournament of the regular season in the Wofford Invitational Sept. 19-21 in Spartanburg, SC.
