MONTGOMERY, AL--- Despite coming up short over the weekend in the Alabama State Invitational, the South Carolina State Lady Bulldogs displayed tremendous effort in hard fought losses to Nicholls State, University of Louisiana Monroe, and host Alabama State.
IN GAME 1: SC State dropped a tough 1-3 loss to Nicholls State in the opening round Alabama State Invite.
IN GAME 2: SCSU came up short in the last two sets falling behind 19-25 and 20-25. Xaria Pickett led the way in Kills with six (6);
Hailey Harris had a match-high three (3) blocks, while
Kaia Barnett finished with 21 Assists and
Trinity Stevenson 10 Digs.
IN GAME 3: The Lady Bulldogs dropped a tough remaining two sets to ULM 17-25, 23-25 on the last day of the tourney. SCSU finished strong with
Hailey Harris and Xaria Pickett leading the charge in Kills with eight (8),
McKinley Roach with two (2) Aces and two (2) Blocks; meanwhile
Kaia Barnett remained solid throughout the tournament with 21 Assists and 14 Digs.
NEXT UP: South Carolina State will remain on the road in the Wofford College Invitational Sept. 19-21 in Spartanburg, SC.
