ORANGEBURG, SC— South Carolina State women's basketball is back in action Monday (Feb. 5
th) at home versus visiting Coppin State in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) contest inside Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center. Tipoff is 5:30 p.m.
SERIES: Coppin State leads the series 15-9 over South Carolina State dating back to 2008. The last time the two teams met the Lady Bulldogs knocked off the Lady Eagles 61-50 (2/11/23) in Orangeburg, SC and in Baltimore, MD (2/4/23) 63-61.
Meanwhile, South Carolina State (1-20 overall, 0-6 MEAC) look to bounce back after a disappointing 59-65 loss to Morgan State on Saturday (2/3/24).
Jordan Releford led the way with a team-high 18 points in the loss.
Coppin State (7-13 overall, 4-2 MEAC) enters the contest after coming off an 48-53 loss to North Carolina Central in their last outing. Laila Lawrence led the way with 22 points and 16 rebounds for the Lady Eagles.
NEXT UP: South Carolina State returns to action on Saturday. Feb. 17
th on the road at Norfolk State in a 2 p.m. start, followed by a showdown with Howard on Monday, Feb. 19
th in Washington, DC in a 5:30 p.m. start.
