ORANGEBURG, SC—The South Carolina State women's volleyball team came up short over the weekend falling in a pair of Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference contest to Coppin State and Morgan State inside Dukes Gymnasium.

South Carolina State falls to 3-19 overall, 1-9 in league play.

In the first contest on Friday (Nov. 1) the Lady Bulldogs played tough but fell short in three sets to Coppin State 26-24, 25-22 and 25-19. Hailey Harris led the way in kills with 10, while Xaria Pickett added seven (7).  Harris also added four (4) blocks, while Kaia Barnett led the way with assist (18) and digs with 10.

On Sunday (Nov. 3) SCSU who defeated Morgan State earlier this season on the road 3-1, gave the Bears all they could handle before falling short 0-3.

Xaria Pickett finished with 12 kills, while McKinley Roach added five (5) blocks along with Kaia Barnett's game-high 28 assist and Robyn Whites 15 digs.

NEXT UP: South Carolina State will close out the regular season with three straight home contest including UMES on Friday (Nov. 8) and Delaware State on Sunday (Nov. 10). SCSU will host "Senior Day" on Friday (Nov. 15) when they will honor and salute three student-athletes inside Dukes Gymnasium.
